Yes, we've finally booked the date! And we've chosen the beautiful Lake Lure Inn and Spa for our location. It's this little mountain resort town near Chimney Rock State Park. You may be surprised to learn that 'Dirty Dancing' and 'Last of the Mohicans' were filmed here. It's a very laid-back place and the Gardens (where the ceremony and reception will be) is absolutely quaint and beautiful.
Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Bat Cave all have vacation rentals, camping and hotels for lodging minutes away. Here are just some of the details (we'll be adding to this):
- Lake Lure Inn and Spa has a block of rooms reserved in our name until July 15 at 15% off their normal rates. Their website is http://www.lakelure.com/ BUT you need to call them directly at 828.625.2525 to book your room with our party name: Boos/Dabbs to get the discount. They start around $100/night. They are literally across the street from the 'beach' in town.

Just a note: Lake Lure is a very large lake and houses are all around it. We'd recommend you look at a map of the property or ask them before booking. Some places could be over an hour from Asheville (which is fine if you'll be coming in Saturday and don't plan to do much there, but we are planning Friday's activities to be Asheville-focused). Also, Asheville and Black Mountain don't look that far away, but you have to literally go over a mountain to get there so don't plan on driving 55 miles and hour.
